Full story
One letter to the editor started a 61-mile trail. In 1963 May Theilgaard Watts, a naturalist at the Morton Arboretum, asked the Chicago Tribune why the old Aurora and Elgin rail line couldn't become a footpath. Today the Illinois Prairie Path runs from Maywood out to Elgin and Aurora, through grass taller than you are, with coneflowers on one side and goldenrod on the other. That's the walk on the front. On the back, the oak where the path meets the sky.
Midweight 9.5 oz garment-dyed fleece with a soft cotton face. Relaxed fit, true to size.
Verse: Jeremiah 6:16, printed under the oak at the back of the neck.
Care
machine wash cold, inside out, gentle cycle, with like colors. Garment-dyed, so each piece varies a little in shade. No fabric softener or bleach. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not iron the print.
