About

Mayvick is two last names pushed together. Maycroft and Landvick. Two brothers from Algonquin.

We make clothes about Chicago and the six counties around it. Cook, Lake, McHenry, Kane, DuPage and Will. One place, drawn as one place. The city counts. So does the sled hill in Naperville, the ski jump in Fox River Grove and the windmills along the river in Batavia.

The shirts are heavyweight cotton in colors you can wear to work. The art is flat, two or three inks, drawn from the real thing. Place names, dates and distances carry most of it. If you're from here, you'll know what a piece is about before you read the small print. If you're not, it's a good shirt.

Every piece has a plate number, starting at 01. They run in order and we don't reuse them. The number is on the sleeve or the back of the neck, and each one has a page in the journal with the story and where we got it.

Everything is made to order at a print shop, so nothing sits in a warehouse waiting to go on sale. Most orders take about a week to ship.

Algonquin sits on the McHenry and Kane county line, which is as good a place as any to start treating the six counties as one.
