Dibs is Chicago's winter rule. You dig your car out, the spot is yours, and a lawn chair holds it until spring. Nobody wrote it down and everybody follows it. The story most people tell starts with the Blizzard of 1967, about 23 inches of snow in a day and a half, when anyone who shoveled out a space wasn't giving it up.

Unstructured six-panel dad hat, chino cotton twill, adjustable strap, in Stone. DIBS over BLIZZARD OF 1967 stitched in navy on the front, the six counties small on the left side and the mark over the Mayvick name on the back, both in navy. Also in Navy with white thread.

Care: spot clean or hand wash cold. Air dry. No bleach. Do not iron the stitching.
