Every March the Chicago River turns green for St. Patrick's Day, dyed by a plumbers' union. The idea started in 1961, when a plumber's overalls came back green from the dye he used to trace leaks. The mayor wanted Lake Michigan. They settled for the river. Standing on a bridge downtown, shoulder to shoulder, watching the water change color is one of those Chicago mornings you never forget.
A bascule bridge printed across the front, the six counties stitched at the wrist. Midweight 9.5 oz garment-dyed fleece with a soft cotton face, relaxed fit, true to size.
Verse: 1 Corinthians 10:31, stitched small at the back of the neck.
Care
machine wash cold, inside out, gentle cycle, with like colors. Garment-dyed, so each piece varies a little in shade. No fabric softener or bleach. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not iron the stitching.
