WOODSTOCK SQUARE · GROUNDHOG DAY

Groundhog Day was filmed on this square, and the Opera House played the hotel. Before that, in 1934, a former Todd School student named Orson Welles ran a summer theater festival inside it. Paul Newman and Geraldine Page are Woodstock Players alumni. The city hall was built in 1889.

The Opera House and its tower cover the back, drawn for Mayvick with a hatched, grainy texture in slate blue, tan and green. Beneath it: WOODSTOCK SQUARE, The Opera House, and the line GROUNDHOG DAY · CITY HALL 1889 · WELLES 1934. A tiny line below reads ORSON WELLES RAN A SUMMER THEATER FESTIVAL HERE, and a small Mayvick wordmark sits under the collar. On the front, a small clock and the mark, two short slanted bars, are embroidered at the left chest in black, Old Gold and white thread.
