There's a ski jump in Fox River Grove

Fox River Grove is nowhere near a mountain, and it has a ski jump anyway. Norge Ski Club dates to 1905, and the club says it's the oldest continuously open ski club in the country.

The big hill is a 70-meter jump, with five smaller ones beside it. In summer the jumpers keep going, landing on plastic matting. The 121st tournament ran January 31 and February 1, 2026, and drew somewhere between 8,000 and 10,000 people. Norge jumpers have made the 2018 and 2022 Olympic teams.

If you want to see it, go for the tournament. Dress like it's January, because it will be.

This is the Norge hoodie.
