Riverview Park opened on July 2, 1904, and ruled the corner of Belmont and Western until it closed after the 1967 season. The wooden coaster called the Bobs arrived in 1924.
The carousel made it out. Its 70 horses, built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, now live at Six Flags Over Georgia, and the carousel was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.
Where the park stood you'll now find a shopping center, a police station, DePaul College Prep and Richard Clark Park.
